Duke TE Jeremiah Hasley Carted Off vs. Northwestern

Duke TE Jeremiah Hasley was carted off in Duke’s win over Northwestern after suffering an apparent leg injury in the second quarter.

Hasley is a redshirt sophomore who had 3 catches for 11 yards on the season thus far after finishing 2023 with 5 catches for 52 yards and a TD in a season where he appeared in all 13 games and made 5 starts for Duke.

Kentucky v. South Carolina Injury Report

Kentucky and South Carolina shared their required injury report ahead of their Week 2 matchup. Between the two teams, Kentucky is definitely the more injured team, as South Carolina only has two players listed as out already, while South Carolina has eight players listed as out.

Kentucky RB Chip Trayanum is among those listed as out, which is a noticeably absent piece for the Wildcats who misses another game due to a broken hand suffered in a preseason practice. Kentucky is also missing Courtland Ford on the offensive line, though Coach Mark Stoops shared earlier this week that Ford’s injury would sideline him for an extended period of time. Ford was anticipated to be a big part of the OL.

For South Carolina, OL Jakai Moore and DB Emory Floyd are the only two players listed as out, but only Moore is expected to miss a substantial amount of time according to Coach Shane Beamer.

Nebraska QB Dylan Raiola’s Biggest Asset Ahead of Colorado Game

True freshman Dylan Raiola was one of the most prized recruits in Huskers’ history. After looking sharp and throwing for 238 yards in his first start against UTEP, On3’s Sean Callahan and Kaiden Smith discussed young Raiola ahead of his first big game.

What Callahan spoke on wasn’t just Raiola’s arm, but rather his ability to lead an offense like a winning quarterback. The example Callahan provided was how the helmet communication had already turned off for the play, and Raiola checked into a run call because of the feel he had, and that turned into the most successful run play of the game.

Overall, Raiola has a great feel for the game, which is hugely important as Nebraska takes on Colorado in one of the most hyped up games of the day, which will likely be the most or second most watched game, behind #3 Texas @ #10 Michigan.

Michigan DC Wink Martindale on Path from NFL to College

Michigan DC Wink Martindale joined the Wolverine coaching staff after having spent his previous 20 years at the NFL level, but astute fans saw Martindale’s fingerprints all over the past two Michigan defenses.

Previous DC Jesse Minter is a Martindale disciple and worked under Martindale with the Baltimore Ravens.

As for the benefit Martindale’s experience has, he shared that he thinks it’s definitely a help. But he also pointed out that Texas coach Steve Sarkisian also has added some schematic concepts from the NFL level, with a lot of similar concepts in their passing offense to a Shanahan-esque system.

UNC QB Conner Harrell on Preparation After Max Johnson’s Injury: Nothing Different

Conner Harrell is now North Carolina’s starting quarterback after a leg injury to Max Johnson has cost him his 2024 season.

Despite going from the backup to the starter, though, Harrell says that his preparation has not changed. Harrell said that because he always had to prepare like he was going to get an opportunity to play, there is not actually any difference in his preparation now that he actually is getting to play.

Sherrone Moore’s Response to Report He’s Coaching Without a Contract

Michigan Athletic Director Warde Manuel recently confirmed that Sherrone Moore is coaching the Michigan Wolverines without a contract to be the coach of the Michigan Wolverines.

Moore went on The Pat McAfee Show to reassure Michigan fans that, “I’m committed to Michigan, they’re committed to me. I am getting paid and I am – I am under contract. So we’re in a good place.”

This is a slightly misleading quote as it’s been confirmed by the Michigan AD that Moore is not actually under contract, but rather is coaching through a Memorandum of Understanding, which covers the broad contractual terms as the finer points get hammered out by the lawyers.

Back in 2021, Jim Harbaugh also signed a memorandum of understanding in January and did not get his complete contract signed until September, so this is not unheard of in Ann Arbor.

Kirk Ferentz: Cy-Hawk Rivalry Is Underappreciated

Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz recently took some time to hype up the history of the Cy-Hawk rivalry, saying that he thought people underappreciated the historic matchup.

This is Ferentz’s 34th Cy-Hawk game in a rivalry which will have been played a total of 71 times after today, so he knows a thing or two about the history and the meaning of this game for people in the state of Iowa.

With how much is on the line in the state, Ferentz believes that people don’t truly grasp just how much the players care and how hard they go in preparation and during the game for the sake of securing a rivalry win.

Sherrone Moore on Offseason Overhaul, Feels Good About Guys in the Locker Room

Michigan coach Sherrone Moore shared that he feels good about the guys in the locker room despite the massive offseason overhaul of the roster that took place.

Even though the teams lost 13 players to the NFL Draft and some other depth pieces to graduation, Moore also points out, as an example, that 4/5 of the OL are juniors and seniors. Looking at the roster, the team does not return a bunch (or many) starters, sure, but Moore did point out that the team has guys who have played a lot of football as depth pieces and are still plenty experienced.

Arkansas WR Jaedon Wilson Stepping Away from Team

Former Arkansas WR Jaedon Wilson surprisingly announced he was stepping away from the Razorbacks in a length Instagram post.

Wilson’s message seems to read as though he intends to continue playing football, just not with Arkansas. It’s unclear what has brought on this seemingly sudden and drastic change, but Wilson was a redshirt junior who was a rotational piece at the WR position.

Wilson was originally a 4-star recruit coming out of vaunted DeSoto High School in Texas and has a total of 18 receptions for 248 yards and two touchdowns in his time at Arkansas.

North Carolina QB Max Johnson Planning to Return in 2025

Max Johnson announced yesterday that he intends to return in 2025 and play for North Carolina after breaking his leg in the Tar Heels’ opener against Minnesota.

Johnson said to Pete Thamel and ESPN, “I have a lot of football left in me, and know I will be back out there next year.”

Johnson was originally a 4-star QB as part of the Class of 2020 who enrolled at LSU. He spent two seasons there before transferring to Texas A&M and spending two seasons there. Between those four seasons at LSU and Texas A&M, and one half of a game at North Carolina, Johnson currently has just under 6,000 career passing yards, 47 total passing touchdowns, and just 13 career INTs.
