Report: Josh Hoover Turned Down $1M Raise to Leave TCU for Tennessee
According to a story from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, TCU QB Josh Hoover reportedly turned down an offer from Tennessee that would have been a $1M raise over his current deal from TCU.
Hoover has been at TCU for 3 seasons, starting for the previous two seasons, throwing for 6,157 career yards and 42 total touchdowns (plus 6 more on the ground).
His 3,949 passing yards in 2024 were 2nd in the Big 12 and 7th in the NCAA. Of QBs returning for 2025, only Garrett Nussmeier threw for more yards in 2024.
Florida State WR Jalen Brown Dismissed from Team After Arrest, Felony Charge
Florida State WR Jalen Brown was dismissed from the team recently and announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal. This news follows an alleged arrest and third-degree felony charge of possession of a controlled substance, according to Curt Weiler of Osceola Rivals.
Brown started his college career at LSU before transferring to Florida State for one season. Brown only caught 8 passes for 75 yards with the Seminoles, but he was expected to be a big part of the offense this season, especially with Hykeem Williams – who was also expected to take a step forward in 2025 – hitting the transfer portal, paving the way for more playing time.
Troy Transfer EDGE Phillip Lee Commits to Arkansas
Troy transfer EDGE Phillip Lee has committed to Arkansas, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
In his 3 seasons with Troy, Lee has 54 tackles, 15 TFLs, 7.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and a pass defended. Most of that production came in 2024, though, as he finished this past season with 32 tackles, 11 TFLs, 5 sacks, a forced fumble, and a pass defended.
On3 ranks Lee as the 52nd best edge in this transfer portal class, which is one of the top edge players still available. He’ll have one more season of eligibility.
Notre Dame Transfer S Kennedy Urlacher Commits to USC
BREAKING: Notre Dame LB, Kennedy Urlacher, as transferred to USC. He is the son of NFL HOF Brian Urlacher.

Notre Dame safety transfer Kennedy Urlacher committed to USC out of the portal yesterday.
Urlacher is the son of NFL Hall of Fame LB Brian Urlacher. With the Irish, Urlacher finished the season with 12 tackles as he was primarily a special teams contributor for an Irish team that made it to the National Championship.
He has an 87 transfer portal rating according to On3, ranking 562nd nationally and 41st at the safety position. He has three seasons of eligibility remaining.
NC State Transfer WR Dacari Collins Commits to Louisville
Former NC State, Clemson WR Dacari Collins has committed to Louisville out of the transfer portal.
Collins was planning on visiting both UCLA and Baylor soon, but he now he ends up with Louisville before he could even make those visits.
Collins spent 2 seasons with Clemson, putting up 17 catches for 229 yards. He then spent the next two seasons with NC State, putting up 38 catches and 526 yards with 4 touchdowns. He will have one final season of eligibility with the Cardinals.
Maryland Transfer OT Terez Davis Commits to Ole Miss
Former Maryland OT Terez Davis has committed to Ole Miss out of the transfer portal after playing in 10 of the Terps’ 12 games at OT.
Davis made 2 starts, and alowed just 2 sacks in his 292 offensive snaps.
Coming out of high school, Davis was only given a rating of 84.65 and was 98th of OTs. After starting some games in the Big Ten as a true freshman at tackle, his On3 transfer portal rating is 86, which ranks 59th of OTs.
He has three seasons of eligibility remaining.

Consensus 4-star CB Victor Singleton flipped his commitment from Illinois to Texas A&M yesterday. Singleton originally committed to Illinois back in February over Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, and Texas A&M.
Singleton’s flip follows his visit to College Station for Texas A&M’s spring game over the weekend.
He ranks in the Top 60 nationally and Top 6 at the CB position everywhere except for Rivals. The On3 industry composite ranks him 85th nationally and 13th at the CB position, though.
For Texas A&M, this is the 11th Blue Chip commitment and 11th commitment overall for a class which ranks 5th nationally and 2nd in the SEC, behind only LSU. For Illinois, the Illini are now down to one Blue Chip commitment, but do still have 13 commitments overall. The Illini’s 2026 class is now ranked 27th nationally and 8th in the Big Ten.

Consensus 4-star ATH in the 2027 class, George Lamons Jr., committed to Texas A&M yesterday over offers from Alabama, Georgia, Miami, Tennessee, Florida, and others.
Lamons shared with 247’s Tom Loy, “ever since my first time visiting, it felt like home. I can see Coach Elko turning the program around, and Coach Wiggins developing me the right way. A lot of great people here in College State.”
Some recruiting sites have him listed as a TE, others place him as a WR. Coach Wiggins is the Co-OC and WRs Coach at Texas A&M, though, if that’s any indication of which position he might play at the next level.
Lamons ranks as high as 29th nationally according to 247, with the On3 industry ranking him 42nd nationally in the 2027 class.

3-Star QB Derek Zammit committed to Washington yesterday over his other program finalists in Alabama and Mississippi State.
As for why he chose Washington, Zammit referenced the relationships and scheme of the coaches at Washington as a big plus. He also referenced the quality of school at Washington as a big plus for him.
Zammit is rated as a 4-star according to both On3 and ESPN, with 247 just narrowly having him as a 3-star (89). According to the On3 industry composite, Zammit ranks 484th nationally and 28th at the QB position.
For Washington, this is the 8th commitment for the 2026 class, a class which ranks 36th nationally and 10th in the Big Ten.
Missouri State Safety Todric McGee Passes Away at Age 21
Missouri State safety Todric McGee passed away yesterday at a local hospital after injuries he sustained Friday at his local residence, according to a statement from the Missouri State program.
The Springfield News-Leader reported that officers responded to check on a well-being call on Friday morning to where McGee was located. It is believed there was a possible accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Athletic Director Patrick Ransdell shared in a statement: “On behalf of the university and our entire department, we want to express our condolences to Todric’s family, friends, and teammates. This tragedy has shaken our football program to the core, and we want them to know we are here to support them in every way possible at this extremely difficult time.”
Coach Ryan Beard also shared a statement: “Our football family is in shock and in mourning at the loss of Todric. We ask everyone to please respect the privacy of his family and our MoState football team at this time as we begin the healing process. Join us in praying for Todric and the people who loved him.”
