Rutgers Flips 4-Star LB D.J. McClary from Penn State

4-Star LB DJ McClary has flipped his commitment from Penn State to in-state Rutgers. Rutgers, after winning 7 or more games for the first time since its first season in the Big Ten in 2014, has put together an impressive class.

Currently, Rutgers sits at 28 commitments, is ranked 17th in On3’s Team Rankings, and is ranked 6th in a stacked Big Ten for 2025.

McClary also held offers to Penn State (obviously), Michigan, Tennessee, USC, Ole Miss, and others.

Top 100 CB Jaboree Antoine Decommits from LSU

4-Star CB and Top 100 overall recruit Jaboree Antoine has decommitted from LSU. Antoine had been committed to his home state Tigers since late January, but has taken official visits to Miami and Florida State.

The consensus 4-star holds offers from most big programs, but it sounds like it is a two-team race, for now, between the Hurricanes and the Seminoles. LSU’s class still sits 2nd in the nation, but the Tigers are now much closer with Alabama behind them than before.

4-Star Edge Cortez Harris Commits to Penn State

Low 4-star Cortez Harris has committed to Penn State over Maryland, Tennessee, and others. This marks the 17th commitment for the Nittany Lions, and the 8th 4-star. It brings the class up to 15th in the country and 5th in the Big Ten.

Harris committed after taking an official visit this past weekend, where he said he really enjoyed spending time with Coach James Franklin and the rest of the guys.

4-Star WR Emmanuel Choice Commits to Oklahoma

Fringe 4-star WR Emmanuel Choice has committed to Oklahoma over Texas A&M, USC, TCU, and Nebraska, among others. This brings Oklahoma’s first SEC class to 10th in the nation and 6th in the SEC with Choice as the 17th commit of the cycle. This marks the 10th 4-star the Sooners have added for 2025, tied for the 5th most according to On3’s Team Recruiting Rankings.

4-Star RB Donovan Johnson Commits to Michigan

Consensus 4-star and consensus top 25 running back in the 2025 class, Donovan Johnson, commits to Michigan. Johnson had over 40 offers, but the Wolverines main competitors in this recruitment were Florida State, Georgia, Ohio State, and Tennessee.

The On3 industry composite ranks Johnson the 15th best running back in the country, which helps brings the Michigan class to 12th in the country and 4th in the Big Ten despite having a relatively low 10 commitments, for now.

3-Star IOL Kaden Strayhorn Commits to Michigan

3-Star interior offensive lineman Kaden Strayhorn commits to Michigan over other offers like Michigan State, Ohio State, Alabama, and others. Strayhorn is almost a 4-star, and held over 25 offers. He took an official visit to Ohio State at the end of last month, and took an official visit to Michigan this month. After that official visit, he decided the decision was easy and committed to the Wolverines.

3-Star IOL Jake Cook Commits to Ohio State

3-Star IOL Jake Cook commits to Ohio State over Louisville, Kentucky, NC State, and others. Cook’s commitment marks the 18th commitment for Ohio State, which still ranks as the #1 class in the Class of 2025. Ohio State sees Cook as a center at the college level.

Clark Lea: House Settlement First Step to Stop Poaching

Following the House settlement, the idea of a revenue-sharing model with the players was opened up as a possibility. The way Vanderbilt Coach Clark Lea sees it, this was the first big step to providing guardrails which will some day safeguard rosters. In his words: “it’s a big rock that then gives room for smaller rocks, and that’s going to become where the details establish our course forward.”

The hope is that with revenue sharing, coaching staffs are better able to develop players and provide a life-changing experience without the players feeling like they need to transfer frequently to the highest bidder in a yearly free agent sweepstakes to make that happen.

Changes to NIL and Collectives After House Settlement

Fox Sports’ Joel Klatt recently broke down what some of the changes are going to be in the economic landscape for college athletes soon. With revenue sharing, the projected number for what each school will dole out to players is somewhere in the $19M to $25M range. Klatt’s belief is that this is good because it keeps everything above the table and does not allow for schools to as easily be pitted against each other in the shroud of darkness.

The collectives which have had a meteoric rise, also will change. For example, they will become strictly marketing arms, which is a departure from the money cannons they have become in the last few years. In other words, the field will be leveled a little bit without completely dismantling the usefulness of collectives to help players rightfully earn for their NIL rights.

3-Star LB Cyrus Polu Commits to Utah

High 3-Star LB Cyrus Polu commits to Utah over Washington, Arizona State, BYU, and UCLA, and others. Polu took official visits to each of those schools, but his last one – to Utah – was the last one he needed to take to know where he wanted to commit.

Polu marks the 9th commitment for Utah, whose class currently ranks 55th in the nation and 9th in the new look Big 12. Polu is a consensus Top 5 player in the state of Utah, so understandably this is a big in-state win for the Utes.
