Good morning, and welcome back to College Football Roundup from CFB Home – the first daily newsletter that’s all college football, all the time with no bias, no slant, and no fluff.

Three-Star CB Andrew Purcell Commits to Kentucky

Rated a four-star on Rivals, and a three-star on every other recruiting site, the cornerback selected Kentucky over some other strong offers for a three-star, including Georgia, Tennessee, and Miami.

Purcell cites the “culture, the people, and the coaching staff” of Kentucky for why he committed to the Wildcats. He is the 9th commit for Kentucky in the Class of 2025.

Four-Star DL Andrew Maddox Commits to Ole Miss

Consensus four-star Andrew Maddox committed to the Ole Miss Rebels over SEC foes Texas A&M, Florida, Auburn, Mississippi State, and others.

As for what led Maddox to decide to commit, ultimately he cited his relationships with Coach Pete Golding and Coach Randall Joyner.

Texas Impresses Elite Five-Star Dakorien Moore

The consensus No. 1 wide receiver and top-five national recruit from Duncanville, TX was on the University of Texas’ campus this weekend for an official. By all accounts, Texas “knocked [it] out of the park.”

The elite prospect is slated to visit Oregon this upcoming weekend, but all accounts are that Texas is comfortably in the lead to land the former LSU commit.

Top 2026 QB Dia Bell Commits to Texas

Another big win this weekend for the Longhorns, the signal caller from Fort Lauderdale, FL and son of former NBA player Raja Bell committed to the Longhorns over the likes of Ohio State, LSU, Penn State, and others.

Every major recruiting service has Bell in their top four quarterbacks for the Class of 2026, as he joins a quarterback room which already has Arch Manning, Trey Owens, and a commitment from Class of 2025 quarterback, K.J. Lacey.

Four-Star CB Jahmir Joseph Commits to Penn State

One of the top recruits coming from New Jersey, Jahmir Joseph, has committed to Penn State. The consensus four-star chose the Nittany Lions over Georgia, Notre Dame, and South Carolina, among others.

This marks the 15th commitment for a competitive 2025 Penn State recruiting class.

Four-Star CB Jahmari DeLoatch Commits to Cincinnati

Four-star cornerback Jahmari DeLoatch has committed to the Bearcats over Michigan and Virginia Tech, among others. Though Cincinnati and Coach Scott Satterfield have already landed thirteen other commitments, this is the first four- or five-star of the 2025 class.

Elite Four-Star OT Jackson Lloyd Announcing Commitment Today

One of the best OTs yet to commit in the 2025 class is announcing his commitment in just a few hours, at 3 PM ET. After an official visit this past weekend to Alabama, all signs are pointing towards a big win for Kalen DeBoer and Co. at Alabama.

Four-Star WR Marcus Harris Commits to Oklahoma

Consensus four-star WR Marcus Harris announced his commitment to the University of Oklahoma over Georgia, Texas, Oregon, UCLA, and others. The Mater Dei wide receiver joined four-star WR Elijah Thomas as blue chip receiving talent for the Sooners’ 2025 class which is currently ranked by On3 as the 11th rated class.

Three-Star QB Shaker Reisig Decommits from Utah

The consensus three-star prospect from Jenks, OK has decommitted from the Utah Utes. With the loss of Reisig, the Utes are down to just six commitments and the 62nd ranked class for 2025. Reisig was the lower rated of two quarterbacks for the Utes in the 2025 class, however.

Les Miles Sues LSU, NCAA over Vacated Wins Costing Hall of Fame Eligibility

Former LSU Head Coach, Les Miles, has sued LSU and the NCAA over the vacated wins which have cost him a chance at entry into the College Football Hall of Fame.

Miles argues that he was not given due process and therefore was deprived of Hall of Fame eligibility. By vacating wins from 2012 to 2015 while with LSU, Miles’ winning percentage falls to 0.597 – narrowly placing him below the critical 0.600 threshold.

Mississippi State Lands Former Oklahoma DL Kevonte Henry as a Transfer

Henry spent the 2023 season with Cerritos College after a year with the Sooners. After that time in JUCO, the former four-star edge rusher has landed at Mississippi State with first-year Head Coach Jeff Lebby.

Three-Star TE Commits to Michigan State

Described as “athletic” and possessing a “high-upside,” Michigan State has added Jayden Savoury, the Spartans ninth commit in the 2025 class.

Savoury is new to the game of football, having primarily played basketball his whole life, not playing football until his junior year of high school. At 6-foot-6, 220 pounds, his frame creates interesting possibilities for new Head Coach Jonathan Smith.
