5-Star Dorian Brew Commits to Oregon

Consensus four-star but composite five-star CB Dorian Brew has committed to Oregon. Brew committed to the Ducks over Texas and Ohio State, with Ohio State previously seeming like the overwhelming favorite.

Brew enjoyed the fact that Oregon wants to use his size and speed as an advantage in the slot. Oregon’s 2025 class now has 14 commitments and ranks 5th in the country and 2nd in the Big Ten.

4-Star TE DaSaahn Brame Commits to Oregon

4-Star TE DaSaahn Brame joined Dorian Brew in committing to Oregon yesterday. The consensus 4-star TE ranks inside the Top 100 on the On3 Composite, and narrowly chose Oregon over Tennessee, as well as other schools which he had offers to.

For Brame, he believes Coach Lanning and the Ducks’ program are headed in the right direction in a way that he really wants to be a part of.

As previously mentioned, the Ducks’ class is now up to 5th nationally and 2nd in the Big Ten.

4-Star TE Chase Loftin Commits to Florida State

4-Star TE and one of the top two players in Nebraska, Chase Loftin, has committed to Florida State over Nebraska, Texas A&M, Missouri, Kansas State, Oklahoma and others.

Loftin is a 4-star according to 3 of the 4 major recruiting services, with 247Sports narrowly not naming him a 4-star. He ranks as the 286th national composite prospect and 17th at TE.

Loftin’s commitment brings Florida State’s 2025 class to 9th in the country, 2nd in the ACC, and 2nd nationally in average recruit rating despite only having 8 commitments.

4-Star Edge Julius Holly Commits to Michigan

4-Star Edge Julius Holly committed to the Michigan Wolverines yesterday. Holly chose the Wolverines over Georgia, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and others.

Holly noted that Georgia was a close 2nd, but ever since visiting Michigan earlier this month, him and his family have been all about the Wolverines.

This is Michigan’s 13th commitment, which ranks 14th in the country and 4th in the Big Ten.

Quinn Ewers on Texas in SEC: “Going to Be Everybody’s Biggest Game”

Texas’ returning starter at QB and preseason Heisman contender, Quinn Ewers, is excited for the Longhorns to join the SEC, but believes the team will enter with a target on its back.

Ewers said he always wanted to play in the SEC, and is excited to have the opportunity to play in a conference like the SEC. He said the Longhorns are going in “full speed” and that they want to win the SEC Championship, but know that every team in the SEC is going to give the Longhorns their best shot, every week.

Texas’ conference slate starts at home against Mississippi State on Sep. 28, and they only play 3 true road games in conference at Vanderbilt, Arkansas, and at Texas A&M to finish the season. Then, there’s obviously their fellow newcomer in the SEC, Oklahoma, who they play in the Red River Shootout at the neutral Cotton Bowl. And in Austin, the Longhorns host Mississippi State, Georgia, Florida, and Kentucky.

4-Star S Rashad Johnson Sets Commitment Date and Names Finalist

4-Star S Rashad Johnson has changed his commitment date from July 1st to July 14th. Johnson took official visits to Georgia, Louisville, Penn State, and Texas A&M.

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine believes the Florida safety will most likely choose Georgia (81.6%), with Louisville (4.6%), Penn State (3.9%), and Texas A&M (2.5%) being the next most likely options, respectively.

Florida QB Graham Mertz Believes Florida’s Tough Schedule is Good for Florida

Despite Florida having the widely considered “toughest schedule” in 2024, one Gator who is not really concerned is the returning starter at QB Graham Mertz.

Mertz shared that, as a competitor, he doesn’t want the easiest schedule. “Because if you go out there and you execute, you play good football and you win, then it’s like, okay, it’s the hardest schedule in the world. As a competitor, you want that.”

For Mertz and the Gators, this hardest schedule includes Miami, UCF, and Florida State in the non-conference, and conference matchups against Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Texas, LSU, and Ole Miss.

By pre-season rankings, 9 of the Gators’ 12 preseason opponents (including all of their last 7 games) are ranked.

3-Star ATH Deji Ajose Commits to Washington

Consensus 3-Star ATH Deji Ajose committed to Washington yesterday afternoon. Ajose chose Washington over Cal, Oregon State, Utah, and others. Ajose plays all of WR, RB, and CB in high school.

Ajose ranks 591st nationally in the On3 Composite, and is a Top 50 prospect from talent-rich California.

This marks Washington’s 17th commitment for a 2025 class which ranks 24th in the nation and 8th in the Big Ten.

3-Star RB Cedric Wyche Commits to Illinois

3-Star RB Cedric Wyche committed to Illinois yesterday afternoon. Wyche held several other Power 4 offers, including offers from Ole Miss, Missouri, Kentucky, Florida, and more.

According to the On3 Composite, Wyche is ranked 634th nationally as the 51st ranked RB. Wyche is the 12th commitment in Bret Bielema and Illinois’ 2025 class, which ranks 46th nationally and 14th in the Big Ten.

Florida State 4-Star QB Tramell Jones Shuts Down Recruitment

Florida State 4-Star QB commit Tramell Jones has announced that he is shutting down his recruitment and is locked in on the Seminoles.

Jones was previously considering an official visit to Florida during the weekend of Jun. 14, which evidently never happened. Hence, Jones announced last night that his recruitment was closed.

Florida State’s recruiting class, as mentioned above, currently ranks 2nd in the country in terms of average recruiting rating and is 9th in the country overall.
