Top Rated 5-Star WR Dakorien Moore Commits to Oregon

Consensus #1 WR in the 2025 class Dakorien Moore committed to Oregon yesterday over his other finalists, LSU, Texas, and Ohio State.

Moore is unanimously considered a Top 5 recruit according to all four major recruiting services, and is unanimously ranked as the #1 WR.

Moore previously was committed to LSU, but is not heading to Eugene, Oregon. WR Coach Junior Adams and AHC/RBs Coach and Super Recruiter Ra’Shaad Samples, along with the rest of the Ducks’ staff, did a great job bringing the WR from Texas away from in-state Texas and nearby LSU.

Moore’s commitment skyrockets Oregon’s 2025 class past Georgia and LSU, putting the Ducks and its 15th commitments into 3rd overall and 2nd in the Big Ten.

4-Star S Hylton Stubbs Commits to Miami

Consensus 4-Star S Hylton Stubbs has committed to Miami after taking official visits to USC, Florida, and Miami.

Stubbs was previously committed to USC, but decommitted in late June after 3 months of being committed to the Trojans. Stubbs is now Miami’s highest rated recruit of the class, a spot just earned by LB Gavin Nix previously on July 1st.

Rivals is the highest on Stubbs of the 4 major recruiting services, ranking him 27th nationally and 3rd for his position. His On3 composite rating is 56th nationally and 5th at safety.

This is Miami’s 16th commitment for the 2025 class, which now ranks 12th nationally and 2nd in the ACC.

4-Star OT Dramodd Odoms Commits to SMU

Consensus 4-Star OT Dramodd Odoms committed to SMU yesterday over Mississippi State and Purdue, among others.

According to On3’s composite ratings, Odoms ranks as a Top 10 OT in the country – a huge win for Coach Rhett Lashlee and Co. at SMU.

One day after adding consensus 4-star QB Ty Hawkins, the Mustangs add another 4-star. Through 4 days of officially joining the ACC, the Mustangs have added 4 different players who have been named a 4-star by at least one major recruiting service.

Unsurprisingly, the Mustangs’ class, which currently has 17 commitments, has jumped up to 24th overall and 4th in the ACC.

4-Star IOL Peyton Joseph Commits to Florida State

Consensus 4-Star IOL Peyton Joseph committed to Florida State over offers from Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and others. Joseph first visited Florida State all the way back in 8th grade, and now a few years later, has committed to the Seminoles.

Joseph did commit to Florida back in February, but a couple months later he decommitted and more strongly considered the Seminoles.

This is just the 10th commitment for Florida State, but Florida State ranks 9th nationally and 1st in the ACC for its recruiting class, which is entirely Blue Chip recruits at the moment.

Miami HC Mario Cristobal: My Obligation to Get Miami Back to Top

Recently, Head Coach Mario Cristobal did an interview with Always College Football. Coach Cristobal used to be a player with the Hurricanes in their heyday, but has been motivated by his connection and love for the program to bring it back to where it once was.

Coach Cristobal points out that the program was not built in a day, it did not slip in a day, and it’s therefore not going to be re-built back up in a day.

For Coach, it’s about setting the standard and building the right culture – “You don’t just roll the ball out there and become Michael Irvin, right? It’s making sure that you’re getting those types of players that can be that and then grinding on the field like those guys did.”

Phil Steele’s Top 25 Draft Eligible OT

Phil Steele released his Top 25 draft eligible OTs for before the 2024 season, and a pair of LSU – Will Campbell and Emery Jones Jr. – lead the way.

Arizona’s Jonah Savaiinaea, Minnesota’s Aireontae Ersery, and West Virginia’s Wyatt Milum round out the rest of the Top 5.

Looking at the conference breakdown, the Big Ten leads the way with 7 mentions, followed by the SEC (6), the ACC (6), the Big 12 (2), the Pac-2 (1 – Washington State’s Fa’alili Fa’amoe), the Group of 5 (1 – Fresno State’s Braylen Nelson), UConn (1 – Chase Lundt), and the FCS (1 – Illinois State’s Hunter Zambrano).

4-Star WR Jayvan Boggs Commits to Missouri

4-Star WR Jayvan Boggs has committed to Missouri over UCF, Florida, Ohio State, Georgia, and others. Boggs was once committed to Ohio State, but decommitted in March.

After taking official visits to only Missouri and UCF, the WR has decided to make his commitment to the Tigers. Despite starting the month of April with 0 commitments, the Tigers now have 13 commitments and are 18th overall and 9th in the SEC.

Phil Steele’s Top 25 Freshman RBs

Phil Steele also released his Top 25 Freshman RBs ahead of the 2024 season. Texas’ Jerrick Gibson leads the way, with Oklahoma’s Taylor Tatum, Penn State’s Quinton Martin, Georgia’s Nathaniel Frazier, and Ohio State’s James Peoples rounding out the Top 5.

As for the conference breakdown, the SEC leads the way with 9 mentions, followed by the Big Ten (6), the ACC + ND (6), and the Big 12 (4).

2024 ACC Head Coach Pressure Ratings

On3’s Jesse Simonton has put together a pressure check rankings ahead of the 2024 season. It’s not designed to be a hot seat list, but rather an acknowledgement of how much pressure each coach should be feeling headed into the season, whether that be hot seat pressure or pressure to take their program to the next level, whatever that next level might be.

The scale is “Low,” “Medium,” “High,” or “Extreme”.

Leading the way with the only Extreme rating, per Simonton, is Miami’s Mario Cristobal.

In the High rating is Clemson’s Dabo Swinney, Pitt’s Pat Narduzzi, North Carolina’s Mack Brown, and Virginia’s Tony Elliott.

Coaches new to the ACC this year – Cal’s Justin Wilcox (Medium), Syracuse’s Fran Brown (Medium), Duke’s Manny Diaz (Medium), SMU’s Rhett Lashlee (Low), Boston College’s Bill O’Brien (Low), and Stanford’s Troy Taylor (Low) – all have relatively modest expectations and pressure heading into Year 1 in the conference.

4-Star DL Zion Williams Commits to LSU

4-Star DL Zion Williams committed to LSU over TCU and Texas, among others. Williams currently ranks as the 31st ranked DL according to On3’s composite rankings. Of the four major recruiting services, ESPN rates him the highest, placing him 15th of DL and 174th overall.

Williams is LSU’s 13th commitment for the 2025 class, a class which currently ranks 5th nationally and 3rd in the SEC.
