Wisconsin Fires OC Phil Longo

Coach Luke Fickell shared, in part, that, “after continuing to evaluate the program, I decided we are not where we need to be and believe this decision is in the best interest of the team. … This team still has a lot in front of us, and I am committed to doing everything we can to close out this season with success.”

While with the Badgers, Longo averaged 23.7 points per game, a slightly below average output. In its last three games, Wisconsin has scored 13 points or fewer in each game.

Wisconsin has not announced who will be in the interim play caller for the rest of the season.

5-Star QB Husan Longstreet Flips from Texas A&M to USC

5-star QB Husan Longstreet flipped his commitment from Texas A&M to USC yesterday.

Longstreet is one of the top quarterbacks in the 2025 class and has made the jump to USC on the same day that 5-star QB Julian Lewis decommitted from USC.

Longstreet is ranked 23rd nationally and 4th at the QB position according to the On3 industry composite.

For USC, Longstreet’s commitment means there are 11 Blue Chip commitments and 22 commitments overall for the Trojans’ 2025 class, a class which ranks 13th nationally and 4th in the Big Ten. For Texas A&M, they now are down to 15 Blue Chip commitments (but no 5-stars) and 21 commitments in total for a class which ranks 11th nationally and 7th in the SEC.

5-Star QB Julian Lewis Decommits from USC

5-star QB Julian Lewis decommitted from USC yesterday after originally committing back in August of 2023.

Lewis has been most closely linked to Colorado and Indiana even throughout his time committed to the Trojans. Lewis has taken four trips to Colorado in the last year, a clear sign that the Buffaloes have a strong chance of landing the elite signal caller.

Lewis is ranked as high as the 2nd overall recruit in the class according to ESPN, but the On3 industry composite ranks Lewis 36th nationally and 7th at the QB position.

As mentioned above, USC has 11 Blue Chip commitments and 22 commitments overall for a class which ranks 13th nationally and 4th in the Big Ten.

4-Star IOL Devin Harper Flips from LSU to Ole Miss

Consensus 4-Star IOL Devin Harper flipped his commitment from LSU to Ole Miss yesterday after originally committing to LSU back in January.

Harper recently went to the Ole Miss game against Georgia, describing the atmosphere as top tier and the best game he’s been to.

Harper ranks 90th nationally and 7th at his position according to the On3 industry composite, a huge recruiting win for the Rebels.

Ole Miss is now up to 10 Blue Chip commitments and 21 commitments overall for the 2025 class, a class which now ranks 17th nationally and 9th in the SEC. For LSU, it’s 2025 class now has 20 Blue Chip commitments and 26 commitments overall for a class which ranks 5th nationally and 4th in the SEC.

Temple Fires Head Coach Stan Drayton

Temple is set to fire Head Coach Stan Drayton after three seasons with the program, according to sources. Drayton was just 9-25 in his 3 seasons with the program.

DC Everett Withers is anticipated to be the interim for the final 2 games of the season. Temple is 3-7 in Drayton’s 3rd season with the program after being projected to finish last in the preseason poll. Temple’s biggest deficiency has been offense, especially this year, where they rank in the bottom 10 in total offense.

4-Star RB Anthony Rogers Decommits from Alabama

Consensus 4-star RB Anthony Rogers decommitted from Alabama yesterday after having been committed to Alabama for well over a year.

Rogers shared that he thinks Alabama has great coaches who did a great job in his recruitment, he just feels like he has to make the best decision for himself as he gets closer to Signing Day.

Rogers ranks highest on ESPN’s rankings, ranking 97th nationally and ranking 2nd of the running backs on Rivals’ rankings. According to the On3 industry composite, however, Rogers ranks 162nd nationally and 10th at the position.

Alabama has dealt with several decommitments in the last few weeks, and the 2025 class now has 15 Blue Chip commitments and 20 commitments overall for a class which still ranks 4th nationally and 3rd in the SEC.

4-Star WR Terry Shelton Commits to TCU

4-Star WR Terry Shelton committed to TCU yesterday over Houston, Kansas, Nebraska, Texas Tech, and others. Shelton was also previously committed to a few other schools, with Arizona being the most recent one.

One big reason why Shelton wanted to commit to TCU was because of WR Coach Malcolm Kelly, who has a resume which stood out to Shelton.

Shelton is rated a 3-star by Rivals, but is a mid to high 4-star on the other recruiting services, with 247 ranking him 71st nationally and 12th at the WR position. According to the On3 industry composite, however, Shelton ranks 196th nationally and 22nd at the WR position.

TCU’s 2025 class now has 5 Blue Chip commitments and 25 commitments overall for a class which ranks 25th nationally and 1st in the Big 12.

4-Star QB Tramell Jones Commits to Florida

4-star QB Tramell Jones committed to Florida over the weekend during his official visit to Gainesville, when Florida beat LSU.

Jones recently decommitted from Florida State where he originally committed back in the Spring of 2023.

Jones ranks highest on Rivals’ site, where he is ranked 36th nationally and 4th at the QB position, but according to the On3 industry composite, he ranks 247th natonally and 21st at the QB position, in large part because of 3-star rankings from On3 and 247Sports.

Florida is now up to 7 4-stars and 13 total commitments for the 2025 class, a class which is starting to take shape, and as the saying goes, better late than never. But, Florida’s 2025 class does currently rank 31st nationally and 15th out of 16 in the SEC.
