Nebraska Names 5-Star True Freshman Dylan Raiola Starting QB

Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule has officially named true freshman and 5-star recruit Dylan Raiola as the starting QB for the start of the 2024 season.

The battle ultimately came down to Raiola and Heinrich Haarberg, who had some experience starting for most of the 2023 season. Raiola now takes over for a Nebraska program that has not made a bowl game since 2016 and has struggled with turnovers and losing one-score games over the recent few years.

5-Star OT Michael Fasusi Commits to Oklahoma

5-Star OT Michael Fasusi commits to Oklahoma over Texas A&M, Texas, and other offers.

After an official visit on the weekend of June 14th, Fasusi shared that he almost committed after that. But after going to Texas the following week, Fasusi knew that how he felt about Oklahoma was real.

Fasusi is rated as a 4-star by On3 but is a 5-star by every other recruiting service, ranked highest by ESPN: 9th nationally and 2nd at his position.

According to On3’s composite rankings, Fasusi ranks 12th nationally and 3rd at his position.

Fasusi is Oklahoma’s 13th Blue Chip commitment and 23rd overall for the 2025 class as Fasusi becomes the headliner for the Sooners this year. The Sooners also catapulted themselves up to 11th in the team rankings and 7th in the SEC after this commitment.

ACC Commissioner: League Has Never Been Stronger

ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips shared recently during an appearance on SportsCenter that he believes the conference has never been stronger in spite of the on-going legal drama with Florida State and Clemson.

Phillips cites the financial records as for why – he pointed out that more than $700 million was distributed to their programs and the 17 programs have combined for more national championships across all NCAA sports than any other conference over the last 3 years.

Phillips also references the success initiative plan that allows for teams who perform better in football and basketball to earn an additional portion of the pie compared to its conference-mates.

Phillips did mention the legal issues and shared that he does not think that should be the narrative anymore, because otherwise people are going to miss out on a really good season on the field with all the success Phillips believes the ACC can have this year.

Ohio State’s Caleb Downs: Offensive Touches on the Table

Ohio State safety Caleb Downs shared recently that he took Ryan Day’s comments in June seriously that Caleb Downs could be getting offensive touches this season.

Downs believes that he’s an elite player with the ball in his hands, so it would only make sense to keep that sort of an opportunity on the table as we head into the season. Downs also shared that he got some opportunities fielding punts in practice as well, which could be another way to let a dynamic player like Downs impact games with the ball in his hands.

Clemson AD Shares Positivity About ACC Commissioner’s Handling of Situation

Clemson Athletic Director Graham Neff recently shared that he heard the comments of ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips during ACC Media Days in July, and Neff appeared to have nothing but praise in response for what Phillips had to say.

Neff said that he believed Phillips showed an appropriate and professional perspective on what the roles are of the Athletic Directors, the conference commissioner, etc. Neff also said that he felt supported by Phillips based on Phillips’ comments, and that Neff believes his fellow ACC Athletic Directors would agree.

Neff finally said that his job is to do what is best for Clemson and that means strategizing for the future in a fluid landscape, but ultimately the Tigers are still a member of the ACC and are going to reciprocate the professional nature the conference has been showing through it all.

Mike Gundy Pitched QR Code To Help Players

Mike Gundy recently shared on the Pat McAfee Show that he came up with the idea for putting the QR Codes to directly invest in Oklahoma State NIL.

The thought behind it was how can people around the world help contribute to Oklahoma State players if one of them makes a big play, so now people from all over the world can see an Oklahoma State player make a big player and decide to contribute to them directly.

Local establishments in Stillwater will also have the QR Codes so that way patrons can look and decide “instead of a round on everybody from me it’s okay no, pull up and send some money and QR codes,” Gundy said.

CBS Sports’ College Football Players Rankings

CBS Sports recently ranked its top 25 players for the 2024 season, with 7 teams having multiple players ranked.

Leading the way is Colorado’s star two-way player, CB/WR Travis Hunter. Colorado also has QB Shedeur Sanders on the list at #4.

Michigan (#3 DT Mason Graham, #11 CB Will Johnson), LSU (#6 OT Will Campbell, #16 Edge Harold Perkins), Georgia (#8 QB Carson Beck, #18 DB Malaki Starks), Texas (#10 OT Kelvin Banks, #14 Isaiah Bond, #15 Quinn Ewers), Ohio State (#12 RB Quinshon Judkins, #19 S Caleb Downs), and Oregon (#20 QB Dillon Gabriel, #22 WR Evan Stewart).

3-Star DE Jewelous Walls Commits to UCLA

3-Star DE Jewelous Walls committed to UCLA yesterday over offers from Cal, USC, Arizona, and others.

For Walls, it was the connection he had to the coaching staff that really stood out to him, as he said that their energy is unmatched and that he instantly felt like a family member.

247Sports is highest on Walls, ranking him 48th at his position with the On3 industry composite ranking him 911th nationally and 75th at his position.

This is UCLA’s 19th commitment for the 2025 class, a class which ranks 38th nationally and 12th in the Big Ten.

UL Monroe Planning to Name General Booty Starting QB

General Booty is expected to be named the starting QB at Louisiana-Monroe in the near future after apparently beating out Reese Mooney and Hunter Herring for the starting job. Booty started his career as a standout at the JUCO ranks before transferring to Oklahoma, where he spent two seasons and did not record a stat in his two appearances in a Sooners uniform.

When Booty entered the transfer portal after his time at Oklahoma, it was a battle between UL Monroe and Samford for Booty, and ultimately he chose the Warhawks and is anticipated to be named the starter ahead of their season opener against Jackson State.

2026 3-Star QB Brock Bradley Commits to Clemson

2026 3-Star QB Brock Bradley committed to Clemson over offers from Texas A&M, Cincinnati, West Virginia, Memphis, and others.

For Bradley, Garrett Riley and Dabo Swinney are the main reasons that he wanted to go to Clemson and get to compete with the best.

Bradley is ranked as the 605th nationally ranked prospect in the class of 2026 and the 55th ranked QB according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

This is Clemson’s 3rd commitment for the 2026 class, a class which already features On3 composite 4-stars CB Shavar Young and QB Tait Reynolds.
