Jim Harbaugh: I Do Not Apologize

New Los Angeles Chargers coach and former Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh was asked about the Notice of Allegations sent to Michigan by the NCAA which alleges he, among other staffers with Michigan, were allegedly in violation of several NCAA rules.

“Never lie. Never cheat. Never steal. I was raised with that lesson. I have raised my family on that lesson. I have preached that lesson to the teams that I’ve coached. No one’s perfect. If you stumble, you apologize and you make it right. Today, I do not apologize. I did not participate, was not aware nor complicit in those said allegations.”

4-Star OT Carde Smith Commits to USC

Consensus 4-Star OT Carde Smith committed to USC yesterday after decommitting from Auburn back in June.

After visiting USC, Smith said that USC had been making a real hard push for him.

According to On3’s industry ranking, Smith ranks 256th nationally and 21st at his position. His commitment marks only the 16th commitment for USC’s 2025 class, which currently ranks 18th nationally and 5th in the Big Ten.

Preseason Coaches Poll Released

Now that it’s August and fall camp has began, the coaches got to ranking.

Leading the way is Georgia, followed by Ohio State, Oregon, Texas, and Alabama. Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Michigan, Penn State, and Florida State round out the Top 10.

In total, there are 9 SEC programs, 6 Big Ten programs, 5 Big 12 programs, and 5 ACC programs (plus Notre Dame).

2026 4-Star TE Carson Sneed Commits to Tennessee

2026 4-star TE Carson Sneed committed yesterday to Tennessee over Auburn, Louisville, Ohio State, Ole Miss, and other offers.

Sneed committed while visiting Tennessee, saying that it’s always been home to him.

He is currently ranked as the 5th best TE in 2026 according to both ESPN and Rivals, and the On3 industry composite ranks him 174th nationally and 9th at the TE position for 2026.

This is Tennessee’s second commitment in the 2026 class, where Sneed joins the #1 QB of the class, Faizon Brandon.

On3’s Prediction of the AP Top 25

On3’s Jesse Simonton recently took some time to attempt to project what AP Top 25 voters are going to do with their ballots.

Leading the way is Ohio State, with Georgia second. Following Georgia is Texas, Oregon, and Alabama to round out the Top 5. Then comes Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Michigan, Penn State, and Florida State to comprise the rest of the Top 10.

Then, Simonton projects a few SEC teams: Missouri, LSU, and Tennessee respectively. Then, followed by Clemson and Oklahoma. After them, a run on Big 12 teams with Utah, Kansas State, and Arizona. Then Texas A&M, Miami, NC State, and Oklahoma State. Finally, his projection rounds out with USC, Iowa, and Kansas in 25th.

ESPN’s Pete Thamel Predicts Punishments for Michigan, Sherrone Moore

On Monday’s edition of TV show Get Up, ESPN’s Pete Thamel shared what he believes the most likely punishment for Sherrone Moore and Michigan will be, even if the NCAA throws the biggest book possible at each of them.

For Moore, it would likely be a short suspension of some sort for a Level 2 violation and as a repeat offender after being suspended for the opener of the season last year for COVID off-campus recruiting issues which were widely repported.

For the university, Thamel does not see any sort of postseason ban as likely, nor does he think any sort of retroactive games or accomplishment vacating will take place. Looking at past precedent, Thamel believes there is no concern over player eligibility, either.

3-Star DL Xavier Ukponu Commits to Wisconsin

3-Star DL Xavier Ukponu committed yesterday to Wisconsin over Arkansas, Baylor, and SMU, among others.

Ukponu shared that his visit to Wisconsin sealed the deal for him, because he bought into the vision of the program that Coach Luke Fickell is building in Madison, WI.

Rivals ranks Ukponu the highest of the defensive linemen, ranking him 33rd in the country. The On3 industry composite ranking places him 1020th nationally and 100th at the DL position.

This is Wisconsin’s 23rd commitment in the 2025 class, which ranks 22nd nationally and 8th in the Big Ten.

ESPN Ranks to 25 Hardest Schedules Ahead of 2024

ESPN ranked the Top 25 hardest schedules ahead of the 2024 season. And no, it is not Florida listed 25 times, though, it probably could be.

With non-conference matchups against Miami and Florida State, in-conference road games against Tennessee and Texas, the annual matchup against Georgia, and home games against LSU and Ole Miss, it’s no surprise that Florida is first on this list.

8 of the next 9 schools are in the SEC: Mississippi State, Georgia, Kentucky, Auburn, Alabama, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, and Texas.

Then 7 of the next 9 schools are in the Big Ten: Purdue, UCLA, Washington, Vanderbilt, Illinois, Ohio State, South Carolina, Michigan, and Michigan State.

Then the next 4 schools are in the SEC, before 2 more Big Ten schools round out the list: Texas A&M, Arkansas, Ole Miss, LSU, Wisconsin, and Maryland.

In sum, this Top 25 list features 15 (of 16) SEC schools, 9 Big Ten schools, and 1 ACC school. The one SEC school not listed are the Missouri Tigers, which ranks 29th.

Auburn CB Champ Anthony: WR Cam Coleman Winning Most 50/50 Balls

5-star true freshman WR Cam Coleman has been absolutely dominating Fall Camp and turning heads since he got to The Plains of Auburn.

According to CB Champ Anthony, Coleman has turned the 50/50 ball into a 60/40 or 70/30 proposition, which would be a massive advantage for QB Payton Thorne and coach Hugh Freeze in 2024 and beyond.

Coleman was a consensus 5-star in last season’s recruiting cycle at one point committed to Texas A&M before flipping and ultimately signing with Auburn. He ranked 4th nationally and 2nd at the WR position according to On3’s composite rankings.

Netflix Releases Trailer for ‘Sign Stealer’ Documentary

Netflix has revealed its trailer for their newest Untold documentary: Sign Stealer. In the above tweet, for about 10 seconds there is a preview of some of what is in the documentary.

For example, Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports is there, doing an interview. It then shows Connor Stalions himself being interviewed, where he shares the quote, “if I’m a bad guy, then everyone in football is a bad guy.”

The documentary will be released three weeks from today, on August 27th.
