The NCAA Division I Council approved a rule change easing restrictions on the limit of countable coaches during practice and games.

The rule maintains that only 10 assistants and the Head Coach are allowed to recruit off-campus.

NCAA Proposes Changing Transfer Window

The NCAA introduced a proposal to change the transfer portal windows in football and basketball from 45 days to 30 days, with a vote expected on this proposal sometime in October.

Last year, the transfer portal window was shrunk from 60 days to 45 days, and this proposed change down to 30 days largely is based on the data that over 80% of undergraduate basketball players who entered the transfer portal, entered within four weeks of the transfer portal opening.

The 30-day window for a player to transfer after a coach leaves for another remains unchanged.
