4-Star S Ivan Taylor Flips to Michigan from Notre Dame

Consensus 4-star Ivan Taylor flipped his commitment yesterday from Notre Dame to Michigan.

Taylor was Notre Dame’s highest rated defender according to the On3 recruiting composite before flipping, and now he becomes Michigan’s 2nd best recruit behind defensive line recruit Nate Marshall.

Taylor is now Michigan’s 12th 4-star and 15th overall commitment for the 2025 class, which ranks 11th nationally and 3rd in the Big Ten.

4-Star Te Andrew Olesh Commits to Michigan

Consensus 4-star and one of the top TEs in the country, Andrew Olesh, committed to Michigan yesterday over Penn State, Alabama, and Florida, among others.

Olesh cited relationships with Coaches Casula (TE), Moore (HC), and Campbell (OC) as the main reason for what separated Michigan. Olesh also believes there’s a path to playing time with the Wolverines that is appealing, among many other reasons.

3 of the 4 major recruiting services rank Olesh in the top 4 at his position, with his On3 composite rating placing him 3rd.

As mentioned, Michigan now has 12 4-star commitments, and 15 commitments overall, for the 2025 class which ranks 11th nationally and 3rd in the Big Ten.

Olesh is also now Michigan’s top offensive commitment for the 2025 class, at least for now.

South Carolina Targeting Oregon’s Darren Uscher for Director of Player Personnel Role

Per 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz, South Carolina has targeted Oregon’s Darren Uscher for their director of player personnel role.

Before Oregon, Uscher has experience in head personnel roles at UCLA, Auburn, and Boise State.

Uscher was only at UCLA for a short time, but left for Oregon after Coach Chip Kelly left UCLA’s head position to be the OC for Ohio State.

4-Star S Jaylan Morgan Commits to Georgia

4-Star safety Jaylan Morgan committed to Georgia yesterday over Florida, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State, among others.

Morgan cited the development at Georgia as his main reason for committing to the Bulldogs, calling it “out of this world”.

Rated a 4-star on all major recruiting services except for On3 – where’s 1 point off of being a 4-star – Morgan’s composite ranking places him 253rd overall in the country and 24th at his position.

Georgia’s class now has 17 Blue Chip commitments and 19 commitments overall, which places the Bulldogs 3rd nationally and 2nd in the SEC for the 2025 class.

Opposing Coach Cites OL as Concern for Oklahoma

In an anonymous interview with Athlon Sports, an opposing assistant coach from SEC believes that Oklahoma could be in trouble on the offensive line unless it can get some last minute help out of the transfer portal given that the secret to SEC play is the line play, according to the anonymous assistant.

Oklahoma lost over 4,000 snaps worth of experience from last year’s OL as 4 players went to the NFL and Cayden Green transferred to Missouri.

Oklahoma does, however, bring in heralded IOL recruit Eugene Brooks. The Sooners also were able to land Washington’s Geirean Hatchett and SMU’s Branson Hickman out of the transfer portal, both talented players who were highly sought after in the portal.

In sum, the Sooners added 5 OL total from the portal, but will that be enough?

3-Star QB Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele Commits to Cal

Consensus 3-Star QB and top rated recruit from state of Hawaii, Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele commits to Cal over Oregon State, Boise State, and Utah State, among other offers.

Nearly a 4-star for both On3 and 247Sports, Sagapolutele is currently the 437th overall rated recruit for the 2025 class according to the On3 composite ranking, and 31st at the QB position.

He was also the final QB who was uncommitted for the 2025 class inside of the top 500 for On3’s composite rankings.

This commitment brings Cal’s class to 14 total commitments, for a 2025 class which ranks 63rd nationally and does unfortunately rank 17th out of 17 for the ACC.

Top 10 Non-Conference Games This Season

On3’s Jesse Simonton has shared his top 10 non-conference games for this season, headlined by Texas’ trip to Michigan on Sep. 7, in a non-conference matchup that was very nearly a rematch of the National Championship.

Next on the list is Miami at Florida in Aug. 31. These two sentences from Simonton perfectly encapsulate the significance of this matchup: “On one sideline stands Billy Napier, who is 11-14 and needs as much early goodwill as any coach in America. On the other is Mario Cristobal, who continues to excel in everything but coaching games on Saturdays.”

As for the rest of the list, it goes LSU v. USC on Sep. 1, Georgia v. Clemson on Aug. 31, Notre Dame at Texas A&M on Aug. 31, Penn State at West Virginia on Aug. 31, Florida State at Notre Dame on Nov. 9, NC State v. Tennessee on Sep. 7, Alabama at Wisconsin on Sep. 14, and finally Colorado at Nebraska on Sep. 7.

3-Star ATH Seaonta Stewart Commits to Indiana

3-star athlete Seaonta Stewart commits to Indiana over Purdue, West Virginia, and Kentucky, among others.

Stewart is an intriguing prospect who has a range of 3-star ratings and rankings from the four major recruiting services, ranging from the 25th best recruit at the athlete position (Rivals) to the 71st best recruit at the athlete position (On3).

Stewart is currently the 644th overall recruit according to On3’s composite rankings and is the 29th ranked recruit at the athlete position.

Stewart is Indiana’s 19th commitment for the 2025 class, which currently ranks 52nd overall and tied with Illinois for 16th out of 18 teams in the new look Big Ten.

Leading the way is Tennessee’s James Pearce Jr., followed by Georgia’s Mykel Williams, Texas A&M’s Nic Scourton, Ohio State’s J.T. Tuimoloau, and Florida State’s Patrick Payton to round out the Top 5.

With all of the Top 3 and 6 of the Top 12, the SEC’s 9 mentions leads the country. That is followed by the ACC + ND with 8, the Big Ten with 6, and the Big 12 with 2.

Phil Steele’s Top 25 Freshman WRs

Phil Steele has also ranked his Top 25 freshman WRs ahead of the 2025 season.

Leading the way is supremely talented Jeremiah Smith of Ohio State, who was ranked by 3 of the 4 major recruiting services as the top overall recruit in the 2024 class.

After Smith, the rest of the Top 5 includes Tennessee’s Mike Matthews, Alabama’s Ryan Williams, Texas’ Ryan Wingo, and Texas Tech’s Micah Hudson.

Looking at the consolidation of recruiting talent in recent classes, 6 schools have multiple WRs on this list, including Clemson, Auburn, Ohio State, Miami, Oregon, and Oklahoma.

Looking at the conference breakdown, 9 of the WRs come from the SEC, 7 come from the Big Ten, 6 come from the ACC + ND, 2 come from the Big 12, and finally 1 comes from the Pac-2 (Jordan Anderson, Oregon State).
