Jack Tuttle to Start For Michigan This Weekend, Sherrone Moore Announced

QB Jack Tuttle was named the starting QB for Michigan against Illinois this Saturday, his coach announced.

Tuttle is the third QB to start for the Wolverines this season, as Davis Warren and Alex Orji have struggled with sustaining drives for a variety of reasons. Tuttle replaced Orji during the Wolverines’ loss to Washington. He finished with 98 passing yards, a touchdown, and an interception on 10-for-18 passing.

Moore said of Tuttle, “I think right now he gives us the best chance to win. We’ll continue to process that as an offense, as a team, but that looks like the direction we’re heading.”

Alabama DL Jehiem Oatis Opting Out of 2024, Taking a Redshirt, and Entering the Transfer Portal

Alabama DL Jehiem Oatis shared on his Instagram recently that he was opting out of the rest of the 2024 season and entering the transfer portal.

Oatis shared that his decision did not come easily, but he believes this is what he needs to do for the purposes of prioritizing his future and career. Oatis also shared that for the time being, all communication goes through his representatives at Young Money APAA Sports, Adie Von Gontard, and Noah Reisendfild.

Oatis played a good bit as a true freshman in 2022, finishing with 29 tackles, 2 tackles for loss and a sack. In the last couple of years, though, he has taken a bit of a step back, combining for fewer tackles, tackles for loss, and sacks over a year and a half compared to 2022.

Georgia Tech WR and Former Alabama Transfer Christian Leary Enters Transfer Portal

Senior WR Christian Leary has decided to sit out for the remainder of the 2024 season, redshirting and entering the transfer portal to preserve his final year of eligibility.

Leary transferred to Georgia Tech from Alabama before the 2023 season, in which he put up 25 catches for 309 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also added 463 kick return yards on 21 kick returns.

Leary has only played 54 snaps thus far this season between offense and special teams, with a majority being against Georgia State and VMI.

He was originally a Top 10 wide receiver recruit before going to Alabama in the 2021 class.

4-Star OT Mario Nash Decommits from Mississippi State

4-star OT Mario Nash decommitted from Mississippi State after originally committing to the Bulldogs back on June 23rd after committing to Mississippi State over Clemson, LSU, and Ole Miss.

Nash’s decommitment comes after taking an official visit to Florida State this past weekend. On3’s Chad Simmons has reported in the past that Nash had visited Florida State several times recently, and likes many of the coaches and staff there.

Nash is nearly a consensus 4-star, being given the highest 3-star rating from On3. According to On3’s industry composite, Nash is ranked 270th nationally and 22nd for the OT position.

Mississippi State loses a Blue Chip commitment, but the 2025 class still has 7 4-stars and 19 commitments overall. It’s class ranks 32nd nationally and 15th out of 16 in the SEC for the 2025 class.

High 3-Star IOL Nelson McGuire Commits to Texas A&M

3-star IOL Nelson McGuire committed to Texas A&M yesterday over Clemson, Auburn, Vandy, and others.

McGuire visited Texas A&M this past weekend as the Aggies beat Missouri 41-10. He was a big fan of what he saw, and provided On3’s Steve Wiltfong with some great quotes about A&M being a great place, with a crazy, unmatched atmosphere and an amazing coaching staff.

McGuire ranks highest from On3, who ranks him 234th nationally and 14th for his position. The On3 industry composite, however, only ranks 548th nationally and 46th for his position.

This is Texas A&M’s 22nd commitment for a 2025 class which ranks 9th nationally and 7th in the SEC.
