NCAA Ready to Issue Notice of Allegations re: Michigan Football and Connor Stalions

TheWolverine.com is reporting that the NCAA is prepared to issue Michigan a Notice of Allegations at some point this week, as soon as today or tomorrow.

This Notice of Allegations stems from the sign-stealing scandal which Michigan is accused of being part of under Jim Harbaugh, with Connor Stalions being at the center of the operation, allegedly.

It is expected that Stalions is going to receive Level 1 violations for his role, with another staffer expected to be hit with violations related to paying for dinner and a ride for student-athletes, and with at least two other coaches receiving Level 2 violations related to paying for dinner for athletes.

Worth noting, there are no current Michigan staffers facing an allegations, but there is one current coach who allegedly deleted text messages between him and Stalions, so it is possible something comes out from the Notice of Allegations, but that is purely speculation at this point.

4-Star ATH Derick Smith Flips from Alabama to Auburn

Consensus 4-star ATH Derick Smith flipped his commitment yesterday from Alabama to Auburn after originally committing to the Crimson Tide on March 11th.

4-Star S Anquon Fegans Commits to Auburn

Consensus 4-star S Anquon Fegans committed yesterday to Auburn over his other finalist LSU. Clemson, Georgia, and Alabama were also high on Fegans’ list.

Fegans said that there was something about Baton Rouge he loved, but ultimately he couldn’t leave his home state of Alabama by playing for the Tigers.

Fegans ranks as highly as 36th nationally and 2nd at his position (both ESPN), and his On3 composite ranking is 57th nationally and 5th at the S position.

As mentioned, Auburn’s 2025 class now has 21 commitments, ranks 6th nationally, and ranks 4th in the SEC.

2026 4-Star CB Dominick Kelly Flips from USC to Georgia

2026 4-star CB Dominick Kelly has flipped his commitment from USC to Georgia after originally committing to the Trojans on March 24th.

Kelly ultimately made the decision because he believes Georgia fits him best as a cornerback.

Kelly ranks as highly as 164th nationally and 13th at the CB position (both Rivals) and he ranks 170th nationally and 14th at the CB position according to the On3 composite ranking.

Kelly is Georgia’s 3rd commitment in the 2026 class which ranks 3rd nationally and 2nd in the SEC.

ESPN’s Top 25 CFB Players Since 2000

ESPN’s Bill Connelly has ranked the Top 25 college football players since 2000, and wouldn’t you know it, there’s plenty of discourse about it.

His list kicks off with Nebraska’s Ndamukong Suh, followed by Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield, Auburn’s Cam Newton, Texas’ Vince Young, and Miami’s Ed Reed.

Surprisingly, Oregon’s Marcus Mariota, Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence, Stanford’s Christian McCaffrey, and Baylor’s Robert Griffin III did not make the list, and LSU’s Joe Burrow is down at 9th.

Is this list has showed people something, it’s that there have been a lot of really high quality college football players over the last 24 or so seasons.

4-Star QB Adam Schobel Flips from Oklahoma State to TCU

Consensus 4-Star QB Adam Schobel flipped his commitment yesterday from Oklahoma State to TCU.

Schobel is taking the opportunity to play at his parent’s alma mater and with his cousin by playing for TCU.

Schobel ranks as highly as 188th nationally and 14th at the QB position (both Rivals) and ranks 241st nationally and 19th at the QB position according to On3’s industry composite.

This is TCU’s 22nd commitment for the 2025 class, which ranks 23rd nationally and 1st in the Big 12. It also jumps rival SMU, who held a one-spot advantage over their cross-town rival.

2026 4-Star ATH Joshua Holland Commits to USC

Composite 4-Star ATH Joshua Holland committed yesterday to USC over a plethora of other offers, including Georgia, Oklahoma, LSU, and Oregon.

Holland is a consensus 3-star according to all 4 of the major recruiting services, but the On3 industry composite rankings tab him as a 4-star, where he ranks as the 325 overall recruit and 30th ranked ATH for the 2026 class.

This is already USC’s 5th commitment for the 2026 class, which currently ranks 5th nationally and 2nd in the Big Ten.

3-Star DL Jayden-Jamal Hanne Commits to Georgia

Consensus 3-star DL Jayden-Jamal Hanne committed yesterday to Georgia. But don’t let his rating fool you – Hanne committed to Georgia over offers from Texas, Alabama, Oregon, Texas A&M, and others.

Hanne stated his main reason for committing to Georgia was the culture and brotherhood that the locker room has.

Looking at the On3 industry composite ranking, Hanne ranks as the 679th ranked recruit overall and 61st ranked DL in the 2025 class.

This is Georgia’s 22nd commit for the 2025 class, which now ranks 4th nationally and 3rd in the SEC.

Alabama Announces New Documentary: LANK

Starting at the beginning of August, Alabama has a documentary set to premiere titled “LANK,” named after the phrase Jalen Milroe, which stands for “let all naysayers know”.

Newly retired Coach Nick Saban also features heavily, with his patented concerns over what is and is not rat poison which he would like for his team to avoid.

It is not yet clear where LANK will be broadcast or how long/how many parts the documentary is.

Kirk Herbstreit’s Dark Horse CFP Pick? Rutgers

On a recent guest appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Kirk Herbstreit shared that he believes Rutgers has a Big Ten schedule and the sort of roster that could make a surprise run in December and January.

Herbstreit also acknowledged Iowa and Nebraska as teams that could make a jump in 2024, but the schedule for Rutgers is just head and shoulders more manageable than for most other teams in the Big Ten.

The Scarlet Knights avoid Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, AND Oregon and have the Big Ten’s leading rusher from 2023, Kyle Monangai back with Minnesota transfer QB Athan Kaliakmanis leading the offense.
