Louisiana Judge Dismisses Les Miles’ Lawsuit Against LSU, NCAA For Vacated Wins

According to The Advocate, a Louisiana judge dismissed a lawsuit from former LSU Coach Les Miles against LSU, the NCAA, and the National Football Foundation.

The lawsuit was over the decision to vacate a total of 37 wins at various points in Coach Miles’ 12-year tenure with the program. These vacated wins are the difference between his being eligible for the College Football Hall of Fame and being ineligible.

District Judge Ronald Johnson issued the ruling, but Coach Miles’ attorney shared that they could consider appealing this decision.

Coach Miles originally sued back in September 2024, over a year after LSU vacated the wins. With the vacated wins, Coach Miles’ win percentage of 0.597 was below the 0.600 winning percentage requirement to be considered for the Hall of Fame.

The lawsuit sought a declaratory judgment that would have allowed the vacated wins to be considered for Coach Miles’ bid for the Hall of Fame. His attorneys tried to argue that his right to due process was violated when LSU vacated the wins, and that vacating his wins breached his coach from when he was LSU’s Coach. Both of these were evidently fairly weak arguments, as they were both dismissed.

Before his 2024 at Campbell, Brooks spent time with North Carolina, which included appearances in 32 games. In 2023 and 2022, he appeared in all 13 games and 14 games, respectively, primarily on special teams.

It was exciting to listen to, you can hear his passion. … The history of A&M, top-notch coaches, and a tight community makes it a great place.”
