Kent State Places HC Kenni Burns on Administrative Leave

Kent State has placed Head Coach Kenni Burns on administrative leave.

As of now, there has not been an interim coach named, but spring practice is set to begin this weekend.

Coach Burns is 1-23 in his career as the Head Coach at Kent State following an 0-12 campaign in 2024.

In November, Coach Burns went to court for $24,000 in credit card debt plus interest, and according to CBS, a complaint was filed by a local bank in September alleging Burns was issued a credit card, but failed to make his monthly payment and exceeded the card’s $20,000 credit limit. It’s unclear at the time if that has any bearing on the current situation.

Colorado AD: Colorado v. Syracuse Spring Scrimmage Has Really Good Chance

The Colorado AD recently expressed confidence in the NCAA approving the Spring scrimmage idea between Colorado and Syracuse.

Rick George specifically said, “we wouldn’t have submitted [the waive] if we didn’t think there was a legitimate chance for us to get that. I think that there’s a really good chance it could happen.”

Syracuse HC Fran Brown is hopeful a decision will be passed down by Friday, with Buffzone’s Brian Howell reporting that a decision is expected by next week.

Florida S Asa Turner Granted Extra Year of Eligibility

Florida S Asa Turner has been granted an additional year of eligibility by the NCAA, according to Coach Billy Napier.

According to Nick Marcinko of Gator Country, Turner’s role is still unclear, but it’s clear that he’ll be back for 2025, at least.

Turner transferred to Florida before the 2024 season, but did not play again due to a season-ending hamstring injury.

Across 5 seasons at Washington, Turner appeared in 43 games, making 148 total tackles, 7 tackles for losses, 6 interceptions, 1 fumble recovery, and 2 passes defended.

This is the 11th commitment for Arkansas’ 2026 class, a class which ranks 27th nationally and 11th in the SEC.

Former USC DL Solomon Tuliaupupu Signs with Montana

Former USC DL Solomon Tuliaupupu signed with Montana out of the transfer portal for his final season of eligibility.

Tuliaupupu has been in college for 7 seasons already, appearing in 23 games, making 23 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, and adding a fumble recovery. Former Tennessee HC Jeremy Pruitt Suing NCAA for $100M in Lost Wages

Former Tennessee Coach Jeremy Pruitt is suing the NCAA for $100M in lost wages according to a lawsuit filed in DeKalb County, AL.

In the lawsuit, Coach Pruitt claims that the NCAA conspired with Tennessee to make him a sacrificial lamb for rules violations.

He also claims in the suit that Tennessee was paying players before he arrived, and he reported multiple violations to the Athletic Director at the time, Phillip Fulmer. Fulmer told Coach Pruitt “he would handle it.”

When Coach was fired, it came after a length investigation which determined “the conduct by at least two assistant coaches and several recruiting staff members are likely to lead to an NCAA finding of Level I and/or Level II violations of one or more Governing Athletic Rules.”
