Ashton Jeanty “Only” Rushes for 149 Yards, #15 Boise State Rolls San Diego State 56-24

By the time San Diego State got on the scoreboard, Boise State had already taken a 28-0 lead thanks to 3 touchdown passes from Maddux Madsen and a pick-six by Boise State CB A’marion McCoy.

Boise State RB and Heisman candidate Ashton Jeanty finished with 149 rushing yards and 2 rushing touchdowns on 31 carries. With a long rush of 35, that means on his other 30 carries, he was held in check with 114 yards on 30 carries, good for 3.8 yards per carry. Including his long rush, he finished with 4.81 yards per carry.

Madsen would go on to throw a 4th touchdown pass, finishing 24-for-32 with 307 yards. Three of those touchdowns went to WR Latrell Caples, who had a game-high 90 receiving yards and 6 catches to go with the 3 first half receiving touchdowns.

For San Diego State, the offense struggled to do much, as Boise State’s 28-0 start stretched out to a 49-10 lead early in the 4th before a pair of late touchdowns that had no real impact on this outcome.

Aztecs’ QB Danny O’Neil finished 14-for-30 with 155 yards, 2 touchdowns, and a pair of interceptions, including the aforementioned pick-six. RB Marquez Cooper finished with 94 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Despite going only 2-for-14 on 3rd down, San Diego State did go 6-for-6 on 4th down. Ultimately, the Aztecs were outgained by nearly 300 yards, as it just could not get the Broncos off the field, as Boise State finished 11-for-15 on conversion downs.

At 7-1 and #15 in the country, Boise State’s remaining schedule is just vs. Nevada (3-6), @ San Jose State (5-3), @ Wyoming (1-7), and vs. Oregon State (4-4).

UConn Gets to Bowl Eligibility as the Huskies Hold On Late to Beat Georgia State 34-27

272 rushing yards later, UConn improved to 6-3 with a 34-27 win over Georgia State to get to bowl eligibility for the 2nd time in 3 years under Coach Jim Mora.

The Huskies actually got outgained in this one 380-347, but it did win the turnover battle and set up enough scoring drives by running for 6.48 yards per carry.

UConn was led in rushing by RB Mel Brown, who finished with a game-high 138 rushing yards and a touchdown on 14 carries, good for 9.86 yards per carry. QB Nick Evers also ran for a touchdown, as did RB Durell Robinson, as those two combined for 46 rushing yards on 15 carries.

Evers also finished 10-for-16 passing with 75 yards and a touchdown. TE Louis Hansen caught the touchdown while also finishing with 5 catches for 22 yards.

For Georgia State, QB Zach Gibson finished 28-for-40 with 257 yards, 2 touchdowns (1 passing, 1 rushing), and an interception. Backup QB Christian Veilleux also threw an interception on one of his two pass attempts. RB Freddie Brock finished with 78 yards and a rushing touchdown on 10 carries, while WR Ted Hurst led all pass catchers with 91 receiving yards and a touchdown on 7 catches.

2009 to 2011 was the last 3-year stretch where UConn made multiple bowl games, as the Huskies made a bowl game every year from 2007-2010 as a member of the Big East.

USF Dominates the Second Half to Win 44-21 Thanks to the Bulls Scoring 30 Unanswered

USF scored 30 unanswered in less than 13 minutes of game clock to go from being down 21-14 halfway through the 3rd down quarter to being up 44-21.

USF only outgained FAU by 40 total yards, 525-485, but there was a narrow difference in timeliness for conversion rate (7/17 for USF, 6/21 for FAU; 3/3 on 4th for USF, 1/5 on 4th for FAU) and the extra turnover for FAU, which USF scored a touchdown following to kick off the 30-point avalanche.

Ultimately, FAU turned the ball over on downs 4 times and missed 2 field goals, while USF did not miss nearly as many opportunities.

For the Bulls, QB Bryce Archie finished 19-for-32 with 206 yards and 2 passing touchdowns. He also added 25 rushing yards and a touchdown. 3 other Bulls ran for a touchdown: Nay’Quan Wright (17 for 117), Kelley Joiner (11 for 89, plus 2 rec for 32 yds and a TD), and Ta’Ron Keith (3 for 81, plus 3 rec for 42 yds). Jhalyn Shuler and Decarius Hawthorne also each finished with 1.5 sacks as the Bulls finished 7 sacks on FAU QB Cam Fancher.

For the Owls, Fancher finished 22-for-42 with 306 yards and a touchdown. He also added 23 rushing yards but he was effective in the run game, as it’s worth noting those rush yards include the negative yards from all 7 sacks.

RB CJ Campbell Jr finished with 90 rushing yards and a pair of rushing touchdowns while also having a game-high 78 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown on 5 catches.

For only scoring 21 points, FAU finished with an average of 6.06 yards per play. That is almost a full yard between USF’s 7, but still, pretty good for the Owls.

And finally, if you’re into the drama, there was a bit of attitude from the coaches with the handshake after, as FAU Coach Tom Herman wanted to talk more with USF Coach Alex Golesh, but Coach Golesh kept on walking much to Coach Herman’s dismay.

4-Star CB Shamari Earls Flips from Georgia to Michigan

4-star CB Shamari Earls flipped from Georgia to Michigan yesterday after originally committing to the Bulldogs in early July.

For Earls, he said in his Twitter statement that the decision comes down to finding the best possible fit for him academically and athletically, and he believes Michigan is an “extraordinary” place for both of those factors.

Earls ranks as high as 23rd nationally and 4th at his position according to On3. And the On3 industry composite ranks him 65th nationally and 7th at the cornerback position. Somewhat confusingly, Rivals has Earls as a high 3-star down at the 45th ranked CB, while all other services have him in the Top 10 at the position.

Georgia is now down to “only” 19 Blue Chip commitments and 23 commitments overall for a 2025 class which ranks 4th nationally and 3rd in the SEC.

For Michigan, this is Blue Chip commitment number 13 and the 18th commitment overall. Michigan’s 2025 class now ranks 10th nationally and 3rd in the Big Ten.

Consensus 4-Star CB Graceson Littleton Decommits from Clemson

Consensus 4-Star CB Graceson Littleton decommitted from Clemson yesterday after committing to the Tigers back in June.

In the last few weeks, Littleton has picked up some serious interest from other big programs like Texas and Michigan, as he’s a serious target for the Wolverines staff.

He ranks as high as 72nd nationally and 10th at his position according to 247Sports, while the On3 industry composite places him 99th nationally and 12th for his position.

For Clemson, it currently has a small 2025 class as it has 13 commitments and 7 Blue Chip commitments for a class which ranks 16th nationally and 2nd in the ACC, behind only Miami.

Michigan CB Will Johnson OUT Against #1 Oregon

Star CB Will Johnson will not play today against #1 Oregon according to CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz.

Johnson is currently dealing with a lower-leg injury that he suffered in Week 8 against Illinois which caused him to also miss last week’s game against Michigan State.

Coach Sherrone Moore has already said that Michigan fans can expect to see Johnson on the field again this season, but it would appear as though it will not be this weekend as the top-ranked team in the country heads to Ann Arbor to take on a 5-3 Michigan team looking to pull off an upset of over 2 touchdowns.

#3 Penn State QB Drew Allar Expected to Play Against #4 Ohio State

Penn State QB Drew Allar is expected to play according to multiple sources as he has been sharing snaps with backup Beau Pribula after he injured his left leg against Wisconsin and missed the second half.

Pribula is more of a dual threat option and is expected to factor into the game plan against Ohio State, too.

Pribula finished the second half against Wisconsin 11-for-13 for 98 passing yards and a touchdown while also adding 28 rushing yards. In 7 games for the Nittany Lions, Pribula has ran for 133 yards and a touchdown, as he mainly factors in the run game.

Allar, on the other hand, has 1,640 passing yards and 12 touchdowns on the season while completing 71.3% of his passes.

3-Star Benny Patterson Flips from Cincinnati to Michigan

3-Star DL Benny Patterson flipped his commitment from Cincinnati to Michigan yesterday after originally committing to Cincinnati back in April.

For Patterson, he said that the culture was very impressive and that the Big House exceeded all of his expectations. Evidently, with all of the boxes that the Michigan program checks, it made sense for Patterson to flip his commitment from Cincinnati to Michigan.

Patterson is rated as a 4-star by On3; ranked 223rd nationally and 23rd at his position, with the On3 industry composite placing him a bit lower: 681st nationally and 65th at the DL position.

As mentioned, Michigan has 18 commitments for a 2025 class which ranks 10th nationally and 3rd in the Big Ten.

As for Cincinnati, the Bearcats’ 2025 class is now down to 14 commitments and is ranked 60th nationally and 13th out of 16 in the Big 12.

Initial Report on Revenue-Sharing Cap for 2025-26

According to a report from Yahoo Sports’ Ross Dellenger, the power conferences have informed their members that the projected cap is going to be $20.5M (or 22% of the average P4 school revenue in the previous year) with a 4% increase in the cap each year.

With a number of just $20.5M, that number is lower than the $21-22M that was being projected from preliminary reports following the signing of the House settlement by Judge Claudia Wilken.

3-Star IOL Gavin Blanchard Flips from UCF to Clemson

3-Star IOL Gavin Blanchard flipped his commitment from UCF to Clemson yesterday after originally committing to UCF back in June.

Blanchard committed to UCF over Georgia Tech, UAB, and others, but once Clemson got in the mix and Blanchard visited Death Valley, the rest, they say, is history. And now, Blanchard has made the flip.

Blanchard is one of the top-rated IOL from ESPN, as both ESPN and Rivals have him in the top 10 for his position designation on their respective sites with ESPN rating him a 4-star and Rivals narrowly not giving him that 4th star. On3 and 247 are more modest in its ratings for Blanchard, so his On3 industry composite rating has him rank 938th nationally and 73rd at the IOL position.
