EA Sports College Football 25 Top 25 Rankings

EA Sports College Football 25 released its Top 25 overall team ratings yesterday. Without question, the most debated inclusion is Colorado tied for 16th in the country with an 87 overall.

Georgia is head and shoulders above the rest at 95 overall.

The SEC can claim 4 of the Top 10 and only 7 of the Top 25.

The Big Ten can claim 3 of the Top 10 and also only 7 of the Top 25.

The ACC (plus Notre Dame) has 2 of the Top 10 and 6 of the Top 25.

The Big 12’s highest ranked team is Utah at 10th, with a total of 5 programs in the Top 25.

There are no Group of 5 teams in the Top 25.

5-Star CB Dijon Lee Commits to Alabama

5-Star CB Dijon Lee committed to Alabama yesterday over Georgia, as well as Texas, Texas A&M, Washington, and others.

Lee’s composite ranking on On3 places him as the 30th ranked recruit nationally and the 5th ranked CB in the country.

This marks the Crimson Tide’s 20th commitment for the 2025 class, for a class which now ranks 2nd overall and 1st in the SEC.

4-Star RB Akylin Dear Decommits from Ole Miss

Consensus 4-Star RB, Akylin Dear, has decommitted from Ole Miss.

Ranked as the No. 1 RB per 247Sports and the No. 2 RB per On3 and ESPN, Dear’s decommitment hurts the Ole Miss 2025 class. Ole Miss’ class now ranks 35th overall and 13th in the SEC after several 4-star decommitments in the last week or so.

Dear is now expected to be heavily considering Alabama.

4-Star RB Jordon Davison Commits to Oregon

4-Star RB Jordon Davison committed to Oregon over Ohio State, Michigan, Alabama, and others.

Considering Oregon, Ohio State, and Michigan were 3 of the biggest players in Davison’s recruiting, the domino effect sent things into a frenzy with Michigan hiring away Ohio State’s Tony Alford, Ohio State hiring away Oregon’s Carlos Locklyn, and then Oregon replacing Coach Locklyn with one of the best recruiting assistant coaches in the country in Ra’Shaad Samples.

Ultimately, Davison’s love for Oregon, Coach Samples, and Head Coach Dan Lanning carried the day for Oregon.

Ranked as a 5-star and the top overall RB by Rivals, Davison’s commitment helps the Ducks get up to 6th nationally and 2nd in the Big Ten despite only have 12 commitments.

2025 4-Star Maryion Dye Commits to Tennessee

4-Star Edge Mariyon Dye committed to Tennessee over Purdue, LSU, and Ohio State.

Ranked as the 5th best Edge by On3 and the 7th best Edge by Rivals, Dye cited his relationship with Coach Chop as a huge reason for committing to Tennessee.

This is Tennessee’s 16th commitment in the 2025 class, which is now ranked 11th in the country and 7th in the SEC.

Riley Leonard: Good to go following offseason surgery

While at Manning Passing Academy on Friday, Notre Dame transfer QB Riley Leonard spoke with the media and shared that he felt completely healthy.

Leonard underwent an ankle surgery this offseason after transferring to Notre Dame from Duke.

Leonard says that there is currently no limitations to anything workout-wise, which is good news for Irish fans, as Leonard’s health is the only question mark for the talented signal-caller.

4-Star DL Myron Charles Commits to Florida State

Consensus 4-Star DL Myron Charles has committed to Florida State over Texas, Florida, Miami, Georgia, and others.

Ranked particularly highly by On3 as its 4th best DL, Charles’ composite ranking places him 127th nationally and 9th at his position.

Only Florida State’s 7th commitment of the 2025 class, this brings the Seminoles to 12th overall and 2nd in the ACC. Florida State only has 4- and 5-stars currently committed in the 2025 class.

4-Star Tyler Lockhart Decommits from Auburn

Consensus 4-Star LB Tyler Lockhart has decommitted from Auburn.

The talented Mississippi linebacker is now being heavily projected to stay in-state with Mississippi State.

Auburn’s loss of Lockhart finds the Tigers and its 14 commitments ranked 10th nationally and 6th in the SEC.

4-Star DL Josiah Sharma Commits to Oregon

4-Star DL Josiah Sharma has committed to Oregon while also holding offers from Alabama, Texas, and Washington, among others. Sharma took visits to all of these four schools last month, and settled on Oregon, in large part due to the culture of the program.

On3 is by far the highest on Sharma, ranking him the 7th best DL and 83rd best prospect overall, with his composite ranking placing him 18th for DL prospects and 237th overall.

As mentioned above, Oregon’s class now ranks 6th in the country and 2nd in the Big Ten.

4-Star QB Malik Washington Commits to Maryland

4-Star QB Malik Washington committed to Maryland yesterday, while Virginia Tech, UCF, and Syracuse were also in strong contention, among others.

Washington commits to Maryland following an official visit to Maryland this past week. He cites the trajectory and momentum of the Maryland program as a large part of the reason why he committed, as well as his opportunity to make his mark on the improving program.

Maryland now finds itself with 13 commitments for its 2025 class, which ranks 44th nationally and 13th in the Big Ten.
