5-Star DL Justus Terry Decommits from USC

Consensus 5-star Justus Terry has decommitted from USC, becoming the second 5-star defensive lineman to decommit from the Trojans in as many days.

Terry committed to USC back on March 24th after previously having been committed to Georgia. However, according to On3’s Chad Simmons, it seems possible Georgia could flip Terry’s commitment back to Athens. There is also buzz surrounding his newly scheduled official visit to Alabama this weekend. The lowest a recruiting service has him ranked is ESPN’s 12th place ranking for the Class of 2025 DL.

5 Heisman Candidates from the ACC (plus Notre Dame)

On3’s Jesse Simonton provided his five candidates to win the Heisman from the ACC, which features a few newcomers and a couple familiar faces for ACC fans.

Looking at the rationale for each player, all of the picks were made in an attempt to project who would put up big numbers and bank on the randomness and variance that makes college football great. North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton was also listed as a wildcard option but did not make the graphic.

2025 3-Star OL Commits to Miami

A few weeks after his official visit to Coral Gables, Florida, Jaden Wilkerson has committed to the Miami Hurricanes. Wilkerson is a mid-rated 3-star who also held offers from Rutgers, Syracuse, and UCF in the Power 5.

This places Miami’s class at 20th according to On3, despite only having eight commitments.

2025 3-Star DL Commits to West Virginia

West Virginia has earned the commitment from 3-star defensive lineman Amir Leonard-Jean Charles. Charles also holds offers from some elite programs like Georgia, Michigan, Texas, Tennessee, and others, so this is certainly a big win for the Mountaineers.

This marks the 16th commitment for Neal Brown and West Virginia, which gives them a recruiting class which currently ranks in the top half of the Big 12 at 6th.

Phil Steele Preseason Top 40 Ranking

Phil Steele also announced his preseason top 40 ranking for 2024.

In it, Georgia and Ohio State, respectively are placed at the top of Steele’s list.

Boise State ranks as the highest Group of Five program at 16th. ACC newcomer SMU checks in at 22nd. And the Sun Belt’s Texas State follows up its first bowl appearance and win with a 36th place preseason ranking from Steele.

2025 3-Star Athlete Commits to Iowa

Iowa has locked in its eighth recruit for the 2025 class with 3-star athlete Mason Woods. Woods also held offers from Missouri, Kansas, and Kansas State. Ultimately, the son of the Iowa Special Teams Coordinator chose proximity to home – and family – for which program to commit to.

2026 4-Star QB Jaden O’Neal Announces His Top 10

2026 4-Star Jaden O’Neal has named his Top 10 schools in his recruitment – Arizona State, Auburn, Colorado, Florida State, Miami, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, and Washington.

As for why each of them are on the list, he lists Auburn, Florida State, and Miami as top schools in the south, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Penn State as schools with history and tradition, and Colorado, Arizona State, Oregon, and Washington as schools close to home with great coaches and schools that have produced quality NFL talent in the past.

O’Neal is ranked somewhere between 3rd and 9th of the 2026 quarterbacks across the four major recruiting services.

What Will Become of Athletic Departments Post-House

Following the House settlements, one of the biggest questions is going to be the re-shuffling of funds (and therefore, the re-organization of athletic departments). Some athletic departments staffs are as large as 200 to 300 people, which has resulted in severe overlap and redundancy to ensure expenses reach revenues. This could lead to a reckoning and massive overhaul as players are added into the picture.

Ewers Believes Arch Is In The Best Situation for Him

Arch Manning was one of the most heralded recruits of all-time when he signed with the Longhorns, who already had Quinn Ewers starting, another one of the most heralded recruits of all-time. After sitting for one season, there has been a lot of buzz externally about the Texas quarterback room and if Arch Manning might look to go elsewhere.

However, there has been no indication internally like there is a problem, and current Texas QB Quinn Ewers believes that Arch Manning is in the best spot for his development because he can sit and observe to get more comfortable with the offense and the smaller details of being a quarterback for Coach Sarkisian.
