4-Star Edge Justin Hill Commits to Alabama

Consensus 4-Star Edge Justin Hill has committed to Alabama over Ohio State, Oregon, and USC, among others.

Unanimously rated by the four major recruiting services as a Top 10 Edge, Hill’s composite rating makes him one of the Top 50 players in the country.

After yesterday, Alabama’s 2025 class sits 2nd nationally and 1st in the SEC with a total of 20 commitments – 16 of which are Blue Chip talents.

4-Star QB Ty Hawkins Flips Commitment to SMU from TCU

Consensus 4-Star QB Ty Hawkins has flipped his commitment from TCU to SMU after having been committed to TCU for over a year.

Hawkins is ranked on the major recruiting services as high as 3rd at QB and as high as 87th overall for a composite ranking of 145th overall.

Hawkins flipped his commitment for two big reasons – he believed he’d have a better chance of playing early at SMU, and he believes something is brewing in Dallas that he wants to be a part of.

After also flipping 3-star WR Isaiah Robertson from Texas Tech yesterday, SMU’s 2025 class now sits 26th nationally and 5th in the ACC with 16 total commitments.

4-Star S Cortez Thomas Commits to Ole Miss

4-Star S Cortez Thomas Commits to Ole Miss over Mississippi State, among other offers. Thomas says he was originally leaning towards Mississippi State, until the coaching staff changed over.

Thomas ranks as the 266th overall recruit in the country, and 25th at the safety position. Ole Miss’ 2025 class now has 10 commitments after a handful of decommitments last month, and its 2025 class now ranks 30th nationally and 13th in the SEC.

2026 4-Star QB Dereon Coleman Commits to Miami

2026 4-Star QB Dereon Coleman committed to Miami yesterday over Oklahoma, UCF, and other offers.

Coleman is the 315th ranked recruit in the 2026 class according to the On3 composite of the 4 major recruiting services, but he is ranked as high as the 5th rated QB in the 2026 class according to Rivals.

This marks the 3rd Blue Chip commitment for Miami for the 2026 class, one of four schools to have 3 or more Blue Chip commitments for the 2026 class.

Big 12 Coaching Pressure Rankings

Jesse Simonton of On3 released his Big 12 “Pressure Check Rankings,” using a scale of “Low” to “Extreme.”

This is not a hot seat rankings, but rather, who is experiencing the most pressure to win.

On Simonton’s four-level scale, Baylor’s Dave Aranda is the only with an “Extreme” amount of pressure, which should come as no surprise to anyone who has paid any amount of attention to Baylor football in the last two years.

Colorado’s Deion Sanders, BYU’s Kalani Sitake, and Cincinnati’s Scott Satterfield are all in the “High” level for one reason or another.

As for who is at the bottom, Kansas’ Lance Leipold, Houston’s Willie Fritz, Iowa State’s Matt Campbell, and Texas Tech’s Joey McGuire are all considered under low pressure.

4-Star ATH Zymear Smith Decommits from Alabama

4-Star ATH Zymear Smith has decommitted from Alabama. Smith committed to Kaleb DeBoer and Alabama back on Mar. 9.

Smith’s decommitment also comes a couple weeks after he took an official visit to the home-state Maryland Terrapins.

As mentioned above, despite Smith’s decommitment, Alabama’s 2025 class still ranks 2nd nationally and 1st in the SEC.

4-Star WR Waden Charles Commits to UCF

4-Star WR Waden Charles committed to UCF yesterday after having previously decommitted from Miami back on May 30th. Charles also considered Arkansas and others for his decision.

Charles ranks 352nd overall according to On3’s composite ranking, but he ranks as highly as the 12th ranked WR according to 247Sports.

Despite only have 12 commits for the 2025 class, UCF’s class ranks 2nd in the Big 12 and 28th overall.

Phil Steele’s Top 25 DL Units Ahead of This Season

Phil Steele released his Top 25 defensive line units ahead of the 2024 season.

Utah being ranked 3rd is the only thing that prevents this Top 5 from being exclusively the Big Ten, as the Top 5 is Ohio State, Penn State, Utah, Michigan, and Nebraska.

Despite not having a control on the top of the list, the SEC actually has the most Top 25 mentions at 9, followed by the Big Ten (7), ACC + ND (6), Big 12 (2), and Group of 5 (1 – Marshall).

3-Star LB Myles Johnson Decommits from Alabama

3-Star LB Myles Johnson has decommitted from Alabama after committing to Alabama back in November of 2023.

The in-state recruit has reportedly not been a top priority for the new coaching staff. Johnson had not taken an official visit to Alabama at any point this year, but he has taken official visits to Florida and Ole Miss. According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, Florida (89.9%) is far and away the favorite for the linebacker.

Johnson is ranked as the 491st overall rated recruit according to On3’s composite ranking, but he ranks as highly as the 8th ranked LB according to ESPN.

As mentioned above, Alabama’s class still ranks 2nd overall and 1st in the SEC despite a couple of decommitments yesterday.
